At the Aesthetika Center in San Francisco, our first step in designing a smile is to use computer imaging to show our patients the alternative changes that we can make to enhance their smiles. We often have multiple consultations to clarify desired results with the use of pictures and drawings.

We also use wax mock-ups to design the ultimate results desired and then we transfer the waxed blueprint to the mouth with temporary acrylic veneers. 

Once the temporary restorations are in the mouth, we have additional sessions to alter the temporary veneers until we are satisfied with the smile design. We make modifications right in the mouth as we design a glamorous smile.

We can now provide our ceramist, or porcelain technician, with the detailed information to make the actual veneers in "life-like" porcelain.

The aesthetic dentist or cosmetic dentist can also use a dental laser to expose more teeth and to make the smile less gummy.
