Dental Implants
(cont)
Osseointegrated Titanium Dental Implantation is a modern technique in which titanium dental implants are placed in the jaw and become integrated with the bone. The new implants are positioned in a site prepared into the bone and left undisturbed for four to six months. The internal portion of these implants is threaded in order for the dental prosthesis to be attached with small screws. Treatment indications range from a single tooth implant to an implant supported full denture. The requirements of function, durability and cosmetics are well met with the successful placement of dental implants.
Process of Dental Implants
First, bone quality and quantity are evaluated. Second, the dental implant is placed and given four-six months to heal. After completion of the healing phase, the implant is uncovered and the dentist can then complete the restorative phase of the treatment. Third, a prosthetic restoration is fixed to the osseointegrated dental implant.
